MEDWAY GS HOPE for HAITI!
I just received an email from a friend & long-time missionary to Haiti. He is the founder of Mission E4, and works with an orphanage and school in Leogane, Haiti (90% of the structures in this town were destroyed in the quake). They are sending a relief group back to Haiti on Feb. 6th and (in addition to many specific medical supplies and other construction needs) is looking for as many personal survival kits as he can get together for the children and families in the Leogane area. He lived there for years, and knows the people very well – and has an established network of contacts who can rapidly distribute what we send. IIf you think it appropriate, I would love for each troop to put together one (or as many as they can!) personal survival kits by Jan. 30th to be delivered to Hubbardston for inclusion in this relief trip.
Here is what each kit should contain:
Personal Survival Kits (If kits are not complete – send items separately)
(1) Flashlight – solar or self generating crank power (if not with batteries)
(3) Water bottles (8.5oz)
(5) High calorie food bars
(1) Dust mask
(1) Toothbrush
(1) Toothpaste
(1) Rain poncho
(50) Water purification tablets
(50) Water proof matches
(1) Small bottle of hand sanitizer
(6) Wet naps
(1) Roll of Duct Tape
Additional Items:
Tents – Durable/Water Proof
Work Gloves
Nylon Rope
Masonry Tools (trowels, small mallets, rolls of string)
Rice (32oz bags or bigger)
Beans (Black, Pinto, and Kidney – 32oz bags or greater)
Heavy Duty Tarps (Varying Sizes)
Drop off Items at 35 Temple Street, Medway MA
There is a Bin out front with a “Hope for Haiti” Sign
I know that everyone is looking for something concrete to do to help, and this seems like an easy project for families & troops to work on together. The assembled kits can be put in either a bag or box. Sincerely, Kim Campbell
YOU CAN HELP! If you know a Girl Scout, buy her cookies, and find out how she’s helping Haiti! Donate any items to the girls, they are assembling kits!

Welcome to the Girl Scout Page!
I am currently the Media Co-ordinator for the town of Medway. We have a great tradition of Scouting in Medway and my now graduated troop of girls embodies that spirit! (Now all off at college, good luck girls!)

I’ve been a Scout for 20 years now, and have had the privilage to work at the Juliette Gorden Low Birthplace. Girls from all over the nation traveled to Savannah Georgia to learn all about the life of Juliette Low, Early Girl Scouts and Victorian Life. If you or your troop want to visit the Birthplace you can look at their website: Juliette Low Birthplace
I would be glad to give any advice if you a planning a trip to Savannah, or anywhere else for that matter! This past June our Troop planned a trip to see Dublin, Paris and London. (You may have seen the video blogs on the old website) It was a great trip, and we learned so much, about the places but also about travel.
If you want to know anything about scouts please feel free to reach out! I love this organization, and if I can help you let me know!
